Sprucing up the Gardens
We have been getting welcome and encouraging comments on how good Jersey Gardens is looking. Thank you! It has been hard work for us all but certainly worth it - a joy to walk through the Gardens and see what has been achieved.
John Laing/Continental continue to maintain the Gardens and we are discussing ways to improve further.
The new play area has proved to be a great success with all who have visited so far.
We are so grateful to our Community Police force for their continued support and hard work on our behalf to keep the Gardens safe and welcme for all.
Friends of Jersey Gardens - we need more Friends!
The decision to restore Jersey Gardens to its historic value was made in early 2003 by a few local residents (Friends of Jersey Gardens - FoJG), supported by a questionnaire inviting comments from local residents as to the concerns and benefits regarding the Gardens at that time.
FoJG currently has 7 members, including Chairman, Secretary/Treasurer, Publicity Manager. The Group was first formed in 2003 and is affiliated to the Osterley and Wyke Green Residents' Association (OWGRA).
We are looking for new members to join us and make a difference for everyone to enjoy Jersey Gardens as set out in our Aims and Objectives below.
- Would you like to have your voice heard?
- Do you have ideas/issues you would like to raise?
- Would you like to help secure the future of the Gardens and provide a real community environment?
Our meetings are informal but lively and very friendly. We would love to hear from you if you are interested, so please contact us using the form:
Our Aims and objectives:
To promote Jersey Gardens (the Gardens) as a unique area for use by local residents and members of the public.
To maintain and improve The Gardens’ facilities, by regular litter picking, graffiti removal and volunteer “worker bee” days (the Gardens are tidied by removal of leaves, twigs, pruning and flower beds planted with bulbs and plants donated by charity schemes and helpers).
To work with Hounslow and the Metropolitan Police Community Officers in order to improve the Gardens’ facilities as well as safety and security. This includes action against activities such as anti-social behaviour, drug dealing, alcohol abuse/ consumption, vandalism and graffiti.
To restore the original attractions including the Pavilion, water fountain, tennis courts and children’s play area.
We are also looking to developing an orchard/garden local children and their schools can become involved with.
